Two Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
